Life's fast-forward button has been working overtime lately: first our fun vacation, then our return home, and all of a sudden, Isabelle's birthday was upon us. Can you believe she's two already? Nope, me neither.
Because Isabelle is the luckiest little lady on two continents, she celebrated her birthday three times. First, with a fun party at Grandma and Grandpa's house in America (wearing a beautiful hydrangea birthday crown):
And then with a big celebration on her actual birthday at home. Issy received a sweet kitchen for her birthday (total assembly time: 4.5 hours), with a whole bunch of play food to "cook" with.
(For your information no, Issy and Katie are not wearing the same dress. Issy has a dress of her own in the same print as Katie's.)
A couple of days later, we had a big party at our house with all her friends. Because nobody likes the Very Hungry Caterpillar as much as Issy, we used that as the theme for the party, with VHC-themed favors and a caterpillar cupcake cake! Fun fun fun.
It's hard to believe that it was only two years ago that Isabelle came to live with us... it seems like she's always been here. It's equally hard to believe that in only two years she's gone from a little bag of cute plasma to a walking, talking, singing, jumping, climbing, dancing, cuddling, kissing, counting, reciting, pounding, tickling, joking little dynamo.
Happy birthday, little butterfly. Here's to a great year!
