As I look out on the rainy afternoon at our humble abode, I'm remembering the rainy afternoon eight years ago when Jules and I got married! Yup, it's our eighth anniversary, today is the eighth of October, and we're celebrating like fools.
For those who don't keep track of this sort of thing, the traditional eighth anniversary gift is bronze, and failing to find anything really awesome in that expensive and h-e-a-v-y metal, I commissioned a portrait for Jules from the very excellent Jolly Edition and had it framed in a bronze frame:
It turned out so utterly cute, and I am delighted with it! We look so young and cheerful in this painting, you'd never guess we've spent the last eight years messing around with very stressful house moves, job silliness, wiping snotty kid noses and arguing about the housework. But we'd both do it over again in a minute.

Wow what a fabulous idea and a great painting of you both - Jules looks like he has hair ;-)
Congratulations on your 8th year with many more to come.
