Saturday: Brought to you by a giant cloud of volcanic ash

There is a giant cloud of volcanic ash hanging over most of Northern Europe. For that reason, all the airports are shut down and nobody's going anywhere. The best thing about it? NO PLANES FLYING OVER WEST LONDON! You can hear birdsong in our garden! The sky over the Royal Botanic Garden Kew was clear and blue and totally quiet (residents and regular visitors will be used to Heathrow-bound planes zooming overhead every 90 seconds) for the first time in decades, so we decided to pop in for a visit. Of course it helped that the day was sunny and warm, but absolute silence broken only by the sound of bees buzzing and no jet trails visible anywhere was pretty amazing. Viva la volcano!
