Things I Love Thursday: V.V. Rouleaux
Of course you don't need beaded fringe or hand-dyed velvet ribbon or little puffs of marabou, but it's nice to know there's a place where you could buy such fripperies and fancies in one extravagant shopping trip. The marvelous V.V. Rouleaux passementerie shop in Marylebone Lane is a haven for all things pretty and impractical, where one might purchase a single yard of ribbon or a thousand silk butterflies. And as someone who is no stranger to the occasional longing for a bit of crystal fringe (to put on... oh, well, anything), I can tell you that a trip to V.V. Rouleaux, with its beautiful wares displayed in victorian glass-fronted cabinets, draped over button-backed chairs and strewn across tables, is a wonderful way to spend a gray and rainy afternoon.
