We woke to clouds and steady rain, and had to admit that summer was well and truly behind us. There is a definite chill in the air, and it was harder to crawl out from under the duvet this morning than it was yesterday. But, hooray! That means it's sweater season. There's something so excellent about pulling on the first sweater of autumn; especially when it's a luxurious soft cashmere one that smells faintly of your fella's cologne. It gladdens my heart to set aside the lemon sleeveless dresses and turquoise shorts of summer and snuggle into warm plum knits, deep-pile raisin wools and cozy nutmeg tweeds and stomp around outside, crushing leaves underfoot.
