And since we've no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

We woke up to frosty window panes, a blanket of snow on the rooftops and softly falling flakes sugaring the back garden. A perfect day for a mug of hot chocolate with a marshmallow in it.

Paris Café Cookbook recipe for chocolat chaud: 8 oz chocolate, 1 cup whole milk, 1/4 cup heavy cream, 1 tsp. vanilla. Melt the chocolate and milk together in a double boiler. Add the vanilla. When it is hot, stir in the heavy cream. Serve immediately, topped with more whipped cream (if you dare). Take that, cold weather!
